Equipment
- Mixing Bowl
- Grater
- Baking mat
- Hand Mixer
- Refrigerator
- Oven
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Papaya Peeled and seeds removed
- 1 cup Butternut Squash Peeled and seeds removed
- 2/3 cup Amaranth Flakes
- 2/3 cup Amaranth Flour
- 2/3 cup Buckwheat Flakes
- 1 tbsp Curd Cheese (optional)
- 1 tsp Rapeseed Oil
- 2 Eggs
Instructions
- Prepare the papaya and squash: First, wash the papaya and butternut squash thoroughly. Peel both and remove the seeds. Grate the flesh finely and place it in a mixing bowl.
- Combine the ingredients: Add the amaranth flakes, amaranth flour, and buckwheat flakes to the grated papaya and squash in the bowl. Optionally, you can also add the curd cheese. Then add the rapeseed oil and eggs.
- Mix the dough: Blend all the ingredients with a hand mixer to form a smooth dough. Then put the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Fill the baking mat: Press the cooled dough with a dough scraper into the baking mat or baking mold until all cavities are filled evenly.
- Bake: Place the baking mat or mold on a baking sheet and slide it into the preheated oven. Bake the cookies at 350°F (180°C) for about 25-30 minutes, depending on the size of the molds. The cookies should easily come out of the mold when they are done.
- Dry: Remove all dog cookies from the molds and distribute them evenly on a baking sheet. Let the cookies dry in the oven at about 158°F (70°C), until they are really hard. Keep the oven door slightly open so that the moisture can escape.
