Equipment

  • Baking mat
  • Mixing Bowl
  • blender
  • Whisk
  • Dough scraper

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Strawberries fresh or frozen without added sugar
  • 2 Whole eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Low-fat curd cheese
  • 0.5 cup Amaranth flakes
  • 0.6 cup Warm water
  • 0.25 cup Hemp seeds, shelled
  • 1 tablespoon Hemp flour
  • 0.8 cup Buckwheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut oil

Instructions

  • Place the amaranth flakes in a small bowl and add the water. Let the flakes soak for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, wash the strawberries and remove the greens.
  • Combine the soaked amaranth flakes with the strawberries, curd cheese, eggs, and coconut oil in a mixing bowl. Blend everything to a fine puree using a blender.
  • Gradually fold in the hemp seeds, hemp flour, and buckwheat flour using a whisk.
  • Spread the dough with a dough scraper onto the baking mat and bake for about 20 – 30 minutes in the oven preheated to 350°F (175°C). The baking time may vary depending on the size of the baking mat forms. If the biscuits still stick a bit, simply reduce the temperature and extend the baking time by 10-15 minutes.
  • Once baking is done, carefully remove the biscuits from the baking mat and let them dry for another 3-4 hours at 158°F (70°C) in the oven. To allow the moisture to escape, it is recommended to prop the oven door open with a wooden spoon.

Notes

These healthy dog treats offer numerous benefits for dogs due to their high protein and fiber content, as well as the presence of Omega-3 fatty acids from hemp seeds. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also refrigerate them for longer shelf life. For variety, you can replace strawberries with other dog-friendly fruits like blueberries or bananas.
