Equipment

  • Cookpot
  • Mixer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Tray
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 200 g Chicken breast
  • 75 g Canned chickpeas, pre-cooked and natural
  • 50 g Broccoli, cooked
  • 50 g Carrots
  • 25 g Puffed amaranth
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Buckwheat flour (optional)

Instructions

  • First, rinse the chicken under cold water and put it in a pot. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes of cooking time, add the broccoli to the chicken and let both cook together for the remaining 5 minutes.
  • Pour the chickpeas into a strainer and rinse them briefly under running water. Put them together with the carrot into your mixer and chop both to a uniform mass.
  • Fill the chickpea-carrot mixture into a large mixing bowl.
  • Take the cooked chicken and broccoli out of the pot and put both in the cleaned mixer. Chop the ingredients well and then add them to the chickpea-carrot mass in the mixing bowl.
  • Now add the puffed amaranth and the eggs. If you decide for the version with flour, also add it now. Knead all ingredients with a hand mixer to a uniform dough.
  • Line a baking dish with baking paper and spread the dough evenly in it.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and put the dish in for 30-45 minutes.
  • After the baking time, reduce the temperature to 70°C (160°F) and let the mass dry for another hour so that it is well cuttable later.
  • Let the baked dog biscuit block cool completely before cutting it into bite-sized pieces for your dog.
  • Tip: Run a knife once along the edges to the bottom of the baking dish. This will make it easier for you to remove the dog biscuit block before cutting.
